Conditions of Sale

I thought I had better have one of these somewhere.

All comments apply to sales by auction on the Ebay system, and any other online auction I might use.

All sales are without reserve and start at one dollar first bid.
All sales are final unless specifically stated to be otherwise, unless the item is
in some major respect not as described in the listing.
Such things as a gold item not being of the gold standard advertised, a jewel being other than it's description, a watch being not the genuine article or a coin being a forgery or of lower grade than described, would all be
major mis-statements of fact. Minor quibbles about condition will be dealt with sympathetically, but at my discretion.

In practice it usually takes a month or more after sending out the end of sale notice to notice if things have not been paid for , but it is appreciated if, in the absence of any special arrangement, postal payments could go into the mail within a week of the end of the sale.
We are always willing to make any special arrangements that may be useful , to allow for holidays, business trips, time in jail, etc., but please let us know

If you live in the USA or Britain, please pay by cheque (Check), as I am trying to cut down my CC turnover and am reserving it for those buyers who cannot conveniently pay in Dollars or Sterling by Cheque.
If you live in the UK or USA  do not wish to pay by check or Cash please do not bid .
Personal or bank checks get the same treatment, the lots are shipped on receipt.

Credit card sales are charged at a conversion rate that closely approximates the London spot market dollar=pound rate, but the final amount you pay will also have a charge from the credit card company for the foreign exchange which will typically be about 1%-2% depending on the card issuer so the dollar amount on your card statement will not be exactly bid plus postage. We are not scooping in an extra buck or two, this is the credit card company charging for the service they provide

In the event of a refund being agreed, this will be by US cash in the post or a credit card refund.
Cash will be sent immediately if the notes are available, I usually have some knocking about that I have not changed, but if I have just cashed in my cash , it may take a few days to a week to assemble the funds required from incoming cash. Credit card refunds will be submitted at once , but they seem to take longer than charges to  to reach the relevant account and are subject to the credit card company's service charge.
