What happens Next ?

You have just become the high bidder on a lot in an online auction offered by Afantiques.

This is what is meant to happen.

Within 24 hours of the end of the auction, you will receive a formal email from eBay notifying you of your high bidder status in the auction and I , as the seller , will also receive a copy of this notice. I take the relevant details from my copy, the end price, item description, postage costs , etc, add some personal information such as my address and phone number, along with a fairly lengthy but informative notice about methods of payment, with a few tips for those who may find them helpful.
I send an e-mail with the composite notice to all high bidders. It is up to you then to complete the deal.
At it's simplest, just put a cheque (check) in an envelope , with a note of what it is for, and send it to me . I will get it, if you send it airmail, from almost anywhere in the world in a week or less, and on receipt I will have your item packed and sent, the next you know it is in your mailbox. You may wish to send me a reply e-mail saying the dough is on the way, this is appreciated but not essential. Should you wish to pay by credit card, you may use one of the methods explained in the note that comes with my end of sale notice to you.

 Send me a Message

Please Note.
I generally do not get around to seeing what is outstanding from past sales for a month or three weeks, so if I have not heard from you after that time, a delicately worded reminder will arrive.

If I still hear nothing I will simply forget the whole thing and relist the item. Whether appropriate feedback is left will depend on your previous record. and whether I can be bothered.

This is what sometimes happens.

You send me an e-mail with your Credit card details and I forget to print it and pass it to despatch.

You are encouraged to write' Print this, you Idiot' on every CC e-mail in 24 point bold.

It does not happen often.

You do not notice my end of sale notice , as the subject line  is the same as the aBay one

Or your ISP eats the message and you never get it.

The first you would hear would be when I send a reminder much later, so if you have not heard about an auction that you won within five days, with the eBay notices late, or three days under the normal circumstances, first have another look at your mailbox, then send me a note asking for my details.

You do not bother to read any of my advice and send a payment with no clue as to what it is for, using too little postage for airmail, and with an inadaquate or missing return address

Your payment will arrive (probably) late and we will (probably ) be able to work out what it was for , and you will go on my dumb and dumber list. You get your lot but if no mailing or return address has been sent I will not be thinking kindly of you while I do the extra detective work.

You are not reading this either, are you ?

You are a total deadbeat who has no intention of paying for anything and just puts in bids for fun.

You are a rare species but not a protected one. Please do not bid unless you can afford your bids, and intend to follow through.

Genuine hardship cases, where circumstances change suddenly will always be treated with sympathy
